Herbert Da Silva is a Pilipino photographer based in Houston, TX.

He discovered his passion for photography when he picked up his first canon DSLR in 2006 to take pictures of his toy cars. Shortly later, he transitioned to photographing his close friends and siblings. With no formal training or mentors to guide him, he was left to teach himself the art of photography through trial and error, until the error was minimized. Never satisfied with his work, he is always trying to make each picture better than his last.

He found himself keeping up with current industry trends and market demands by hanging out on photography forums and watching behind-the-scenes footage of photoshoots for renowned fashion magazines.

He is strongly attuned to his gut instinct, following it closely and combining it with his knowledge and skills to produce the most visually appetizing pictures.

Working the camera came naturally to him and it wasn't long before clients begin to take notice of his images and asked him what his rates for club events and modeling portfolios were. This made him dive into club coverage, producing vibrant images that make him stand out from other nightlife photographers in Houston. His colorful, flamboyant club and on-location pictures soon became his trademark.

He strives to capture the essence and edge in each person he shoots with. He has had alot of hobbies before - hobbies that ranged from women to cars - but he got bored of them quickly and photography was the one hobby that has captured his heart and will continue to do so. It gave him an escape from his mundane job and triggered a creativity in him that he never knew existed.

He is currently focused on fashion and glamour and hopes to transition to commercial and advertising photography.
