Hi, I’m Nicholas Iverson. I lived for the direction music was taking during the mid 90’s, and of course, capturing glimpses of it through my camera as I attended as many shows as possible. Going to collage in Bloomington, Indiana, I had this love for combining sound with pictures. For example, a band jamming on a misty stage, getting more passionate as the show continues, the fans swaying in unison with lighters burning bright. Right at that moment I am allowed to record a single second that can bring back the memory of that whole show, and maybe even more. It’s moments like these that truly inspired me to pick up my camera.

In 2004 I made my transition to the one and only, City of Angels, still supporting my love for music and art. I can honestly say that moving here opened me up to a very rich experience. Route 66 became my home for three straight days and my red, beat up old pick-up truck served as a bed. From the moment I took my first picture in L.A. I was focused on three specific elements – people, places and music. I might also add that my experience with environmental portraiture increased substantially thanks to the artists I worked with on a regular basis. Many of these projects were based on campaigns and promotions.

In 2014 I decided to spend about a year on the East-Coast. I had the liberty of enjoying that year with an amazing group of photographers who are incredibly passionate and dedicated. I was also the in-house photographer at the Electric Factory. In fact, I made the most of every second, because I began shooting landscapes for Hallowed Ground and portraiture for Philadelphia Magazine.

While back in Los Angeles I’ve began shooting regularly for Orange Coast Magazine and O.C. Weekly.

My home is still in L.A and I spend most of my time there, but I still make regular trips back east to New York and Paris. Everywhere I can find, see or hear inspiration, I’ll take it.
