Several years ago, a soul-journey through India led me to my first real camera, and a world of technicolor dreams exploded before my eyes. Trained in motion picture production (York University, 2002), the deep and sudden calling towards stills caught me unawares.

Ready or not, the adventure began.

For me, photography is not just about angles and glass—it's about listening. To the still small voice, to the subject, to the whole energy of the moment. It's about feeling things out and going where the flow is. As a photographer and artist, that is what I do primarily. I listen. For when to take the shot. For when to hold back. When to put the camera away. When to take it out. When to speak. When to be silent.

Technical skill and a good sense of visual style are important, but listening is the glue that binds those things together and gives them meaning.

Utter beauty everywhere if you get quiet enough to see it.

I'm a Visual Art Photographer. What does that mean? It means that I look at the frame as a canvas. It means that no matter what the subject, my primary aim is not just to capture a moment, or a look, or a personality. Those are important, but for me, the greater value lies not in RE-creating reality, but in creating something new.

I am interested in fictional photography. I'm not sure if this is a real genre or not, but that is the best phrase I can come up with to describe the direction I want to head creatively, and my primary reason for being here on MM. Essentially, I want to create characters and emotions and evoke certain feelings through images, that may have nothing at all to do with the model or fashion. I want to hint at possible narratives behind a set of images. Like the way a poem might hint at a narrative without necessarily revealing it.

I only do limited pro-bono work with models, but if you are interested in working with me on a creative shoot, some degree of acting ability might be an asset. Interesting character or narrative ideas are also welcome. I'm open to more conventional requests as well if you just want to build your port and I happen to have time available. But priority goes to the more creatively-minded.
