Photography is a life-long passion.
I start to learn about it in 1979.
I’m still learning.
Ansel Adams said that all kinds of Art are personal visions of an illusion named “reality”.
I believe that Photography is probably the most effective form of this revelation.
Sometime my works definitely show how I see my own illusion, what it means to me, how it makes me feel.
When it happens, it’s just fantastic.
I just take photos for my personal pleasure and I sell it only for charity reasons.

BLACK AND WHITE SPIDER AWARDS HONORS PHOTOGRAPHER Mario Pietro Luras FROM Italy

LONDON 6th June 2011 - Italian Photographer Mario Pietro Luras was presented with the 6th Annual Black and White Spider Awards Nominee title in the categories of "Portrait" and "People" at a prestigious Nomination & Winners PhotoShow watched by 40,000 online viewers who logged on live from 154 countries to see the climax of the industry's most important event for black and white photography.

Thousands of images were received from 73 countries worldwide. The awards international Jury included captains of the industry from Sotheby's, Magnum Photos, The Armory Show, Fratelli Alinari to Tate and Phillips de Pury & Company in London who honored Spider Fellows with 190 coveted title awards in 27 categories. The judges reviewed the entries online for eight weeks before making their final nominations and Mario Pietro Luras with four exceptional images entered in both the "Portrait" (3 pictures) and People categories, was honored by nomination of the Jury.

"The Spider Awards celebrates photographers who operate at the highest levels of their craft," said Basil O'Brien, the awards Creative Director. The work of Mario Pietro Luras represents black and white photography at its finest, and we're pleased to present him with the title of Nominee."
