About Me

I started working in my local town newspaper printing photos for publishing and on the side would print some of my own to learn what worked(and mostly...didn't). I went to Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick and studied Drama and Spanish. But I also was one of the first Non-fine arts students to be allowed in the photography classes. I moved on to digital photography after the death of film made it a tad expensive to continue.

I spent a decade and a half working in film and theatre. Many of my photos have a "theatrical" bent to them as they do tend to tell a story either of mine or, more often than not, the model's making. I want and expect a LOT of input from models of what they want to express or "say" in an image. Its not always possible(depending on the project), but I try to make it a rule for me.

I tend to shoot more women than men(its what I like to look at) and I've worked mostly with amateur models rather than pros. I'm looking for a piece of the person in the image more often than an image with a person. I have published one book of photography ("What you yourself can Obtain", available on Blurb.com).

I look for models with open minds, willing to challenge themselves, as I need to focus on both for myself and my artwork. If there isn't a challenge, I tend to get bored with the work. Art should be challenging. Thats my focus.
