About Me

Hi there! I a€™m Franz. A true blue wide eyed shutterbug, a City street cowboy, a lover of written words, and a picture poet, among other things.

At first Photography was just a hobby, a new found fancy; just another curious way of self expression and burning chagrin. But like an acquired taste, it came to passion. Rought by the realization that beauty can be perceived through a sharper focus, that even the simplest objects will show a glimpse of their spirit when given a straight forward look through the perspective of my lens.
Artists are creators and progenators.
Writers give birth to influential characters, and painters shows another door to reality; where horrors and wonders are viewed with the same fascination. In Photography, creations are captured and witnessed in 4X4's pocket sized Diorama€™s, revealing stories; more like the Photographers personal interpretation and essay of his subjects life – garish color, tilted, out of focus, and sometimes dimly lit.

I started photography back in 2007 while working in Japan, getting my hands on my first ever DSLR Camera, with the eager excitement and smile of a 3 year old boy. I was trained by a Japanese Photographer in Toyama in my 3 years stay there. He brought me with him on his shoots, like a Samurai would rear his apprentice; teaching him a code, teaching the discipline and the mysteries.

Now that I’m back in the Philippines, I took home what I had learned from my friend from Toyama. Every now and then I drew my Camera from my holster to catch that decisive moment when the ordinary mish mash with the unusual, or turn over rocks and pebbles for surprises and treats worthy of snap shots. My shots are old-fashioned and basic, to catch that splendid simpleness things. Quoting Edward Weston Pepper, that when objects are seen steadily, it gives away its splendor and sublimity.

I want to thank God for this talent that He gave to me and I will use it as an instrument.

I am still learning and getting better. ;)
