Julio Martinez was born on 25.12.1979 into a family dominated a great passion for photography. He received his first camera at the age of eight. After completing his studies, he enrolled in a professional photography course at EFTI School of Photography, one of the most prestigious schools in Spain. Here he benefited from the experience of top teachers such as Alberto Garcia Alix, Ouka Lele, World Photo Press award winner Fernando Marcos and Miguel Oriola to name a few. Here he gained comprehensive knowledge in lighting, studio and film processing techniques. This was before the digital revolution.

Despite an initial reluctance for the digital format Julio has since been experimenting with new techniques and numerous styles, ranging from fashion photos to portraits, landscapes and still life. He has also broadened his horizons and worked as director of photography and producer for two short film productions, Gangstas (2010) and Espejismo (2010). His photographs were recently exhibited at La Boca Cultural Space in Madrid, an exposition which was sponsored by Canon España in connection with the première of Gangstas. Julio is a highly versatile and prolific photographer with an insatiable desire to continue learning and developing himself within the world of photography.
