Hi everyone! I am a 20-year-old aspiring photographer who is here looking for opportunities to get to know and learn from other photographers, and for opportunities to meet models who are willing to trade time for pictures/cd as I build my portfolio. The name of my company, Philokalia Photography, comes from a Greek word meaning "The love of the beautiful", and that is both my inspiration and my goal in my photography: to capture the beautiful, in every person and place and thing that I photograph. I believe that everyone is beautiful and I am willing to photograph people of all ages, body types, ethnicities, and walks of life! I love to capture the genuine emotion and humanity of everyone I photograph; my style is a little artsy and mostly photodocumentary--I will help set up a shot to a certain extent, but I believe photography is as much discovering a shot as creating a shot, so I will often step back and shoot without giving any direction from time to time once we're in a location with good light. I mainly work with natural light, and I've been working on my photography for about 5 years and learning to edit pics in Photoshop, CameraRaw, and Lightroom for 2 and a half years. I love working with people (especially children), I love fun and creative and unique ideas and locations, I love lots of colors, I love vintage, and I love to learn!
