Melvin Maurice Buck Jr. was born on July 11, 1990, at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Buck, the oldest son of Melvin Sr. and Sentka Buck, since birth his parent knew that he was going to be different. Coming from a Christian environment attending Genesis Bible Fellowship, continuous support and loving family, Melvin was told that he could do anything he puts his mind too. Melvin's journey begins in the eighth grade, at Deer Park Middle Magnet School, where he was enrolled in the Mass Communication and Drama Department. There his mind was open to a field where he could be creative and experience the mass media course in a variety of subject areas to give him a well-rounded education. From that point on Melvin was intrigued by everything he had learned from media literacy and reporting public affairs to interviewing and communication technologies, which he took with him to the next level. He began New Town High School in August of 2004 where he enrolled in the Academy of Humanities and Communications and also joined the Titan TV Morning Show. During his 4 years in High School he became very open to new experience where he realized he had a lot of confidence to run for Vice President of Class of 2008 and student government. The Academy allowed Melvin to become a camera operator, TV production assistant, anchor, and TV Production Crew. He became the Director of Titian TV, he gain hands-on training with video equipment and editing software in a full television studio atmosphere. During Melvin's 11th grade year, he was presented with the opportunity to Produce and Director his first game show which aired on Titan TV in 2007. Later in his senior year Melvin was crowned Homecoming King 2008. Melvin realized that he was not meant to be a follower but, to be a leader. In August 2008 Melvin Buck Jr. was accepted in Virginia State University where he majors in Mass Communication with a Concentration in Broadcasting Radio and Television. Having the background in this field and a strong passion in the exciting world of film, television and radio, this major was just the right path to take. While attending VSU, Melvin is involved in the student body by being a part of the world renowned Virginia State University Gospel Chorale better known as (VSUGC) and is a part of a new organization A Movement Walking, he service as a charter member which helps with community service within the student body at large. One of Melvin biggest accomplishment was being crowned Virginia State?s Mr. Sophomore 2009-2010. So far Melvin has performed in play ?A Christmas Desire? produced by Anthony Walker and has model for the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Fashion Show. He has also model for Ed Hardy, Gap, and Levi Jeans in the Baltimore Fashion week, Center of Fashion Annual Showcase. On August 21, 2010 Melvin will model for a fashion and musical event "The Gospel According to Fashion", hosted by Cameron Washington Inc. Melvin Buck Jr. believes one of his greatest strengths is the will to address his weakness and strive to overcome them. Melvin?s determination, strength and experiences have helped create the person he is today and will play a part in making him the person he will be in the near future. Melvin lives by one scripture Philippians 4:13 it states, "I can do all things through Christ who strength me."
