New models...

Beware of GWC (guy with camera). This is the guy that tells you they have relatives that work for major publications or that they have been published in all kinds of magazines yet all their images in their port are basically point and shoot shots with an on camera flash (Nothing wrong with that, but they aren't what you may be looking for). If a photographer's work is inconsistent in quality they are the dreaded GWC. The best test is to look at the photographer's images and ask yourself if you could see the photos in a publication based on quality and composition. If the answer is no then you are dealing with a GWC. Quite simple.

I'm 33 and untrained. But don't let that fool you. My work will show that I'm very capable of taking an idea out of our heads and turning it into an everlasting image.

I try to create an image that tells a story. Hence the name Lexicon Photography. I like to work with the models collectively to come up with ideas that can make the photos truly magical for us both. Without that, the images will look stale and forced...never good.

I will ask, probably, that before we shoot that we meet for coffee. It's not a date. I've found that meeting each other prior to the shoot will allow us to both really learn about the other person's personality so that we know what to expect at the shoot, and everyone can be at ease.

I don't own a studio, or tens of thousands of dollars in fancy lighting equipment. Every photograph in my portfolio was taken with a camera that is capable of producing great images, but I do not own top of the line everything.

I am an artist first, and a professional second, if at all. Photography for me is about the creation of desire and truth. Not of the world as how you see yourself in it, but how the world sees you. It is a hobby and a passion for me. I enjoy helping those with little or no experience in front of a camera build their modeling portfolios. Many of my subjects are building portfolios to help them get promotional gigs, acting gigs, and/or other modeling gigs. Some are simply bored, and want to do something interesting, artistic, and exciting.

ESCORTS/Chaperones/Chauffeurs are not permitted on a paid outdoor photo shoot with me. If you want me to photograph you outdoors, but feel the need for the presence of an escort, you will need to pay me. At what rate is negotiable. Any escort on a shoot such as this should be a female friend who is supportive of your modeling. Boyfriends/family members are not acceptable escorts.

CELL PHONES: if you are going to be texting or calling your boyfriend--or anyone else--during a paid photo shoot with me, I suggest that you do not let me see you doing it, because I will cancel the shoot without pay.

SAFETY: Here's a suggestion. Tell a friend who is supportive of your modeling where and when you will be modeling for a photographer you've never met before, and call them to let them know you're alright after the shoot. But please at least consider not telling your parents, because the likelihood of you being intimidated into canceling our shoot together last minute increases if you do, and that disqualifies you from ever modeling for a paid photo shoot with me.

MORE SAFETY: Also, consider carrying pepper spray in your purse, and keep it a reasonable distance from your person while modeling. But be glad and thankful that you live in a country where you're not required to wear a burqa, and have a male family member present as an escort whenever you are in public.

I do not post nude photos on the internet. Period.

Okay, it's not really all that fast.

TABOOS: We all got em. I don’t have many. You shouldn’t either.

PRUDES: If you think you might be one, please don’t waste my time. If you're not comfortable modeling fashion without wearing a bra, guess what: you qualify. My fashion shoots are far sexier than the vast majority of pornographic material out there, so please be comfortable with your body and your sexuality.


Also, please note: I do not date models. I am here as a photographer, that's it. I am happy with the woman I am with, and that won't change. I will compliment you and tell you that you look beautiful, because you are, that doesn't mean I want to take you to dinner.

Models: Provide your own wardrobe, hair styling, and makeup. You must possess and present a valid photo ID, or there will be no shoot.

Will there be music? Of course, silly.

CANCELLING/RESCHEDULING SHOOTS: If we schedule a paid photo shoot and it is your first time modeling for me, I may consider rescheduling if you contact me with at least 48 hours notice. If it is your first time modeling for me, and you contact me with less than 48 hours notice to cancel, I may consider rescheduling the shoot on a TFCD basis.


NOTE TO OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS: if you are interested in hiring or collaborating with any of the models in my portfolio who do not currently have an MM account, message me. I'd be glad to pass along your interest and contact info. I do not list the actual full names of non-MM models unless they specifically ask me to in order to protect their anonymity.

Models do not create photographers who create professional, agency-represented models. Photographers create models who...idk...I'm bored with this thought...let's talk FASHION!!!
