Alyson attended Boston University and The School of Visual Arts, earning a BFA. During her time within Hunter College's Master Program, she studied non-fiction video within the Integrated Media Graduate Program.

She has taught photography at NYU Sternhardt School, Columbia University, for The Ministry of Education in El Salvador, and Bilingual Education for Central America in Honduras.

Her clients include GQ, Spin, W, Vibe, The New York Times Magazine, New York Magazine, Newsweek, Time, Business Week, Wired, Fast Company, Popular Mechanics, Inc., US Weekly, Allure, People, Good Housekeeping, Discover, Ski Magazine, Kiplinger’s, and Ogilvy and Mather.

She is a contributing artist with Getty Images, Veer, and Redux Pictures and represented by Redux Pictures.


Alyson's environmental portraits are mostly of real people, first shot with a Hasselblad, now with the Canon D5.

Born in Long Island and raised in Queens, she now lives in Los Angeles after an 8 year run in NYC.

Her career goals are to have a book of photographs published and make a feature length film of her present documentary, Private Places.
