About Me

My formal photography training is in photojournalism. While I have made my living mostly as a writer and editor I have often taken the photos that accompany my writing. My work with the camera has grown over the years from scenics and the occasional wedding shoot to more fine art pieces and shooting local musicians during performances in clubs, coffeehouses and smaller concert venues. That has led to some promotional work for musicians I have gotten to know, including images for posters, flyers, recording sessions and CD covers. I enjoy candid portrait shooting in a journalistic or editorial style and I now want to expand my palette to include more formal and environmental-type portraiture, including work with models.
