Born in Korea and raised in Northern California, Song Joo had a passion for art and beauty at an early age. She began her schooling for hair during her last year of High School. Determined and fueled with dreams to being the best she could be, Song waisted no time and began her career as a hairstylist in 2000. Since this time, she has worked in top salons within her city and continued expanding her skills by attending workshops at Bumble and Bumble in New York, the Wella Studio in San Francisco and Vidal Sassoon in Los Angeles. Along with her considerable salon experience and advanced education, she is also a freelance stylist for commercial, editorial and bridal events.

To Song, working with hair is an opportunity to create, inspire and transform someone. She is known for her attention to detail and her creative eye. Song is a sculptor, an artist and an artisan within her industry. Her style may be described as Contemporary-Classic with an Avant-Garde twist. Some of her major influences are: music/fashion icon Bjork, hairstylist Vidal Sasoon and portrait photographer Cindy Sherman.

Accompanying her skills and artistry, Song possesses an easy-going nature with a work-horse mentality. She believes in creating a relaxed environment where people's vibes can flow, also while maintaining focus with doing exceptional great work every time.

Song Joo now lives in Los Angeles, CA where she can be found helping out on photo shoots, browsing antique shops and art galleries, eating spicy foods and above all.... creating beautiful heads of art.
