I am a classically trained oil painter and illustrator. I do mostly still life, landscape and portrait work. Integral to the training of an artist is the lifelong study of the nude. I host a group of professional artists that meet once a week to draw or paint from the figure.
The model must be able to hold the pose for extended periods- usually anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 hours for a pose (note- for longer poses there are breaks every 20 to 25 minutes depending on the difficulty)
We also occasionally hire models for extended poses that may take as many as twelve, 3 hour sessions. We also hire models to pose for portrait or clothed scenes that would involve multiple sessions.
While we do draw various body types, we generally prefer athletic models able to hold tasteful and graceful poses. Dependability is a must.
