Hi! I'm Renee Matthews and I LOVE taking photos! I was recently called "Peter Parker" by an old friend because I don't leave home without my trusty sidekick - my Canon DSLR, and I do walk around the city of New York (or any other city I happen to be in at the time) taking photos.

I was introduced to photography when I was just 8 years old, when my Dad, a semi-professional photographer, bought me my first camera - a Kodak 110 instamatic! I have always enjoyed taking photos, but I found my passion upon removing my SLR from the box! The quality and difference in my images changed instantly. I began to see things differently and now I realize that beauty is all around me. My fascination with photography is renewed on a daily basis with every shot of every new face, plant, insect, landscape, drop of water, flower or any other beautiful subject I can find...

Having people pose for pictures is good, but I feel that capturing people in their natural state - thinking, talking, walking or just doing whatever it is that people do in a daily basis is best! I love to catch the special moments that tug at your heart.

Photography for me is identifying a great subject, finding the best source of light and marrying the two to create amazing images.
