Hi Everyone

I have a BA in International Relations, and an MA in International Peace and Conflict Studies, with additional course work in film, photography, acting, painting, and drawing. I've been involved in social justice for 5 years, but want to pursue a more artistic career in my life. I'm interested in how artistic mediums influence society and how they can educate and create progressive change. Down the line I'd like to be a multi-media artist using everything and anything from painting, to photography, to murals, to film to address social issues. While working my way there, I'm on this website to continue exploring and experimenting with photography, and in doing so trying to expand my portfolio and learn more about the art itself. I often find myself realizing how every shoot presents new lessons learned on the field, from trying to overcome bad lighting conditions, to trying to make what may seem like a boring background interesting and fun, to having to motivate and direct my models when they lack the initiative. Every shoot is a lesson I value that constantly makes me stronger and more artistic. Eventually, once I master different types of shoots, I'd like to start working on more shoots with a social message.
