Sadatu Usman is a mother and an entrepreneur. She's a native New York City girl born to a Nigerian dad and Caribbean American mom. She attended St. Hilda's and St. Hugh's School, a very good private school on the upper west side of Manhattan. She also studied classical ballet and tap from the age of 9 to 17 at the prestigious Alvin Alley School of Dance. There she was taught by some of the best teachers in the city and also got to meet Alvin Alley himself when he would come to her classes to observe. She was an athlete, playing everything from basketball to volleyball to running track. Sadatu went to Penn State University freshman year and Howard University sophmore year. Summer of her sophmore year in college, Sadatu was approached in NYC to model and was given an opportunity to fly to Paris, France. She took the opportunity and was off to Paris in a heartbeat and never looked back. She lived in Paris and London for a few years and work as a fashion model there doing mainly runway. She walked the catwalk for top european designers, such as Isabelle Balu, Lolita Lempicka, lingerie designer Fifi Chachnil, and Zuli Bet. She also worked for the infamous cosmetic line, Make Up Forever in Paris. She returned to NYC and worked as a house model for Viviennne Westwood for quite sometime. Over time she made a buzz of her own when she started producing her very own lifestyle TV series that aired weekly on MNN and BCAT, called Candyapple. She knew she had something when she starting building a neighborhood buzz and when everyone was talking about her shows. After the birth of her son, she was convinced that she wanted to work for herself and be her own boss. She then created a sister company to Candyapple called Beautyjunkie that focused more on product placement and the marketing of all natural lifestyle beauty products. She partnered with companies, such as Desert Essence, and shopped their new organic spa lines around to luxury and holistic spas all over Manhattan. After a while she married her TV show and lifestyle marketing concepts and Femmecat was born. The concept was always the same, a lifestyle network and information base for the city girl, like herself. Femmecat is everything that Sadatu is and represents. She's a fashion savvy New York chick, a beauty inside and out. She's an earth mama by way of her heritage growing up around healthy lifestyle choices and all natural everything from food to remedies for the common cold. She's athletic and artistic with an undying passion for fitness and dance. She's a Mom, a humanitarian, and a business savvy woman. Femmecat is a means to help give back and contribute something positive to the world. She's living out everything Sadatu means, "A child sent by God to help everyone."
