FASHION, LIFESTYLE and RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY (WITH A SENSUAL EDGE)

I'm a Southern California photographer with extensive experience shooting fashion and lifestyle, including location, runway and studio work. I spend most of my time now-a-days adding to my Creative Imaging Archives, primarily shooting fashion and model oriented travel, lifestyle and activity images. I'm also working on a number of special projects,

For a larger selection of my work go to:

To keep things simple, that's where I handle most of my messaging and FR.

LOOKING FOR:

* TALENTED MODELS & INTERESTING SUBJECTS
* MAKEUP ARTISTS, HAIR STYLISTS & DESIGNERS
* GREAT or UNUSUAL LOCATIONS &
* CHALLENGING SHOOTING OPPORTUNITIES

I'm fortunate to be working with very talented, very bright, very beautiful models, some that I've worked with over a period of months, even years.

I'm always interested in new inspiration and new challenges by adding to the list of models that I work with, particularly models that are easy-going, drama-free, collaborative, adventuresome, open-minded and those who might be interested in establishing ongoing working relationships.

As you can tell by some of the Comments and Tags that models have left me, my shoots are usually fun, easy going and productive.

Dedication and dependability are more important than experience. I've taught modeling (and photography) so I'm pretty good at directing models to come up with quality images.

I'm not particularly interested in working with "traveling" models who tell me how much they like my work and will only charge me $100 per hour rather than the $150 they normally charge (what a joke),, with models who have another shoot scheduled the same day (either before or after.. never works out either way), or with models who reschedule or flake on shoots frequently (total waste of time).

TRADE OR PAID (LOCATIONS]

I'm usually pretty good at coming up with the models I need for personal projects and test shoots on a trade basis.

But I do do some paid shoots. For example, I never ask a model do to a trade shoot on assignments that I'm getting paid for.

There are also times when I do paid project shoots, particularly with models who have private locations to shoot at available, such as heated pools, spas or gardens; balconies or rooftops; or just some private residential spaces.

I've found that spaces that models might not think would work, actually do... sometimes they work very well, in fact..So I'm always interested in checking out locations that models might have available.

And I'm looking for new and interesting remote locations to shoot, anything from commercial or industrial buildings, to abandoned structures and old railroad tracks, to hidden beach and desert settings. So if you have any suggestions where you might like to shoot, I'm open to the idea.

IF WE'RE GOING TO SHOOT, PLEASE READ

* All shoots start with a conversation. Most paid shoot start with a preshoot meeting. For project shoots, it depends on the scope, duration and shooting location of the project. For test and trade shoots, a phone call will generally work..

* A Model Release (with photo ID) is required.

* For trade shoots, I usually provide 20 to 30 optimized images per shoot within 10 to 14 days. I don't provide images.that haven't been optimized and I generally don't
provide images on paid shoots, but there are some exceptions, depending on the situation.

* If we shoot, bring a girl friend if you want, but no boyfriends, husbands or so called "escorts". (They're generally too impatient and frequently too controlling.)

JUST FYI: MY BACKGROUND (NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES AND BOOKS).

I've done primarily Editorial work, but I have handled some Commercial assignments. Over the years I've shot everything from casual wear, beach wear and swim wear, to high-end fashion to sensual (and somewhat erotic) art projects.

During my career, I've shot several hundred runway shows. I'm semi-retired, so I don't shoot anywhere near as much as I used to. I've stopped shooting runway altogether.

I've done some studio work but I prefer working on location.

I've taught various photography classes (and a couple of modeling classes) at different adult education programs, art centers and community college extension programs.

I've done a lot of travel writing and photography for in-flight publications and travel magazines, I've traveled to more than 40 countries throughout Europe, North America and various parts of Asia.

My work has also been carried by numerous national consumer magazines, some of the top photography publications in the country, international trade, specialty and corporate publications and various daily newspapers, both on a staff and independent basis.

And I've written several books on photography. (But all that was a long time ago.)
