My name is Monique Ashley James better known as Monique Jae. I was born April 9, 1987 in Brooklyn, NY. I am of Jamaican decent. I spent most of my formative years in Baldwin, NY where I attended Baldwin Senior High. I have several hobbies but dance has always been a passion of mine. I started at the tender age of 4 and continued until age 16. June Claire dance studio was a second home to me where I studied tap, jazz and ballet.
I am grateful for those years, because it has truly helped me to be more graceful while talking photos and walking the runway in my modeling career. I embarked on this journey about 2 years ago and things have been going very well for me. I've worked as a promotional model with recording artist Etcetera from Universal Records on his campaign titled “Black dress”, it was a phenomenal experience.

I followed him on a mini tour promoting his single and fragrance called “ Black dress”. I was also featured in Sheen Magazine fall issue 2011, that was sold in Barnes & Noble. My experience lies primarily in runway and print modeling but I do wish to expand my horizons and pursue other aspects of the industry. In 2010 I was crowned Miss Tropical Paradise 2010, the event was held on the beautiful Island of Jamaica. The competition was featured In the "Liberty Star" newspaper Vol 10. My sponsorship for the pageant was furnished by VP Records, a well known caribbean record label. I have since formed a unique relationship with VP Records and was on the cover of their 2011 cd titled, "Covers For Reggae Lovers". I would love to be apart of model mayhem because, I love networking and meeting new people and trying new things. I feel model mayhem would be the perfect site to tie all of them together. I am very dedicated, and determined to see all my endeavors through to fruition. I use the following quote to get me through each day..."Failure is impossible with sincere hard work!
