Hi my name is Catherine Weldon and I am a Fully Trained Make-up Artist based in London. I have a lot of experience working in the make-up and fashion industry but I also work with a cosmetics company dealing with a large and varied customer base. I have worked with some of Irelands top publications including The Herald, The Independent, VIP magazine and TV Now, Kismet Magazine and Cupcake Magazine, I am also a published beauty writer. This experience has enabled me to move into the fashion world where I have worked on countless fashion shoots, Events and with all of Irelands Top modelling Agencies.

I have a background in Art so I can do a variety of different styles including body painting, high fashion and fine Art inspired looks but I am trained in all aspect of the industry from natural to bridal. I love the work of Make-up Artists Pat Mc Grath, Alex Box, Charlotte Tilbury these people really inspire my work. I love Rankin, Bansky and Dali anything that’s different really or has a lot of passion behind it so if you are interested in these styles give me a shout and we can talk about collaboration.

I Work Part-time so It’s great that I can continue to build and improve my portfolio as I feel that’s what this MM is really about updating your port and making great connections in the industry, Some of the best people I have worked with and continue to work with have been through Here. NEVER ask me for pay as there is plenty of other people on MM trying to build their portfolio and gain experience who are happy just to collaborate so please do not waste my time being a Diva as it cost MUA’s, Hair Stylists and Photographers Money to use their products and replace their products, It however does not cost money to show up or borrow clothing so as I have said bare this in mind you are looking for pay when everyone else is doing TFP.

So please feel free to leave me a message if you like my work and are interested in working on something together. I do have a strange schedule but will really try to move my schedule around if you have a really interesting idea as I love working with new people and I will see what I can do....

I would just like to mention and this is just from personal experience. I think People who can’t show up for a shoot are afraid to let the people they are working with down, but as makeup artists we have to prepare are kits to suit the shoots, Sterilise all are brushes and products, Pack them up and then make are way to your shoots with large Kits and pay for our transport if we are doing TFP. So if you are not 100% with a shoot do not wait till the last min just re-schedule before....As it is extremely frustrating.

PS: I would just like to say I no it can be intimidating starting out with no work and looking at all the amazing talent on MM but remember everyone starts somewhere so if you don't ask and get out there working for nothing and paying you dues its never going to get you anywhere. I use to feel like I did everything for free and people thought I was mad giving up some of my free time, But now I can get any job I want (and I have)because of my experience I built up, My confidence in my work and my huge portfolio all from TFP collaborations. When I started out everyone I meet on MM gave me a chance and now I am happy to do the same for other people if I can. So really don't hesitate asking for advice or a project you are intrested in....
