Since she graduated from Newcastle College business life has been exciting for Fashion Photographer Sophie Pickard.

She is Newcastle based and works around the north-east region but she has already had assignments in Leeds, Hull, Scarborough, Sheffield and London as her business gathers pace. Her work has featured in Accent magazine, The Sunderland Echo, The Journal, The Crack magazine and Players Inc magazine and she has had her photographs on exhibition at The Olympia in London, The Biscuit Factory, The Cluny, The University of Northumbria, Newcastle Arts Centre and the Mandella Building at Newcastle College.

Sophie’s major passion is for celebrity and fashion photography and she has a growing portfolio of successful assignments in Newcastle and Sunderland. She has photographed the popular girl band Bad Lashes for their promotional material and recently completed a study of the rising singing star Beth Jeans Houghton.

Sophie has sold a number of her limited edition prints from her own collection to a growing number of admirers. Her plan is to gain experience that will enable her to approach international fashion houses, models and celebrities with a portfolio that will show her exceptional talent for photography in this highly competitive field.

She gained a Leeds University degree in Photography and Creative Practice from Newcastle College and has worked in the past for Newcastle’s renowned photographer Alex Telfer and for the internationally famous fashion photographer Rankin. Last year she was invited to London for the launch of Rankin’s Masters of Photography exhibition and presented him with a copy of her portfolio.
