About Me

I started photography as a young child and was always told I have an "eye" to see differently. My brain just has a way of automatically seeing lines and different and interesting surroundings. I started off on one of those 110 cameras with funky film.

In 1992 my dad gave me his old camera, I don't remember what brand, but it was totally manual. I worked with film since 1994 in high school and then specialized in photography in college. I know how to develop my own film and process my own prints, though I don't have a darkroom now to do so, I still love the feel of film.

I just recently started going to Meet Ups in my area where they specialize in different models on different months. The studio that I work at is amazing and the owner has help me with my transition from film to digital.

If doing a TFCD and you would rather work in the studio that the owner has, the model pays the $75 rental fee for half a day, I make no profits from this. The studio is HUGE!! Has a nice working area with dedicated lights, outdoor "stage", props and a secluded garden which is gorgeous.

All of my photos are basically un-retouched because I'm pretty dumb at Photoshop. I'm trying to learn my Paint Shop Pro because I like it better. But most of the time I don't retouch my photos. If there is branch or trash in the background then I make the extra effort to get rid of such things. But other than a little color correction, that's all I do.

I'm always on the look out for models who want to work TFCD so that we both can build our portfolios. Since I'm relatively new to shooting people, I am not charging for a while. After my portfolio is rounded out enough, I will then start my own photography business. My ultimate goal is to shoot model portfolios and weddings/special events. I want to do this full time as it is my passion.

***REGARDING COMMENTS*** I love to receive comments on my work, but please try not to use the following: "Pretty model", "She looks hot", "Wow, what a great picture" or any other useless phrases. I am looking for honest college level/professional level of critiques. I would like your honest opinion on how things would work better if I did this or that. Keep in mind most of my shots are done outdoors and there's always a large walking distance so I cannot carry everything. I don't use props, unless they are small and relevant to the shoot. I really do appreciate constructive criticism, unless it's completely useless information. :)
