Shayla Hawkins was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, but grew up in Dallas, Texas. There were many African-American female role models who provided inspiration for Hawkins to achieve her goals, such as: Beverly Johnson, IMAN and Kimora Lee Simmons.
These beautiful and successful women paved the way for fashion and beauty lovers, much like Shayla.

Hawkins became especially interested in fashion styling, merchandising and design at a young age. Luckily, her parents and peers encouraged those interests. That encouragement drove her to excel. She graduated from high school and immediately began attending college to further educate herself regarding her chosen craft. Hawkins is now pursuing her degree in fashion merchandising.

Shayla's accomplishments will not end here, as she will turn her dreams into reality, one day at a time. She hopes to encourage people, especially women and girls, to embrace their creativity and express it through fashion. She definitely brings a fresh, youthful and charasmatic approach to the IHBE legacy.
