I believe that a great portrait happens from the inside out. The most beneficial element in obtaining the very best portraits is without a doubt being able to establish a sincere connection to you as an individual. Even before the active photographic process begins, I take many extra steps toward finding out your hidden artistic desires and acknowledging the comfort zone that will best represent your characteristics and personal style.

To me, portraiture is a Fine Art Service, one that requires strong technical skill as well as creativity. I maintain a workflow that is not contrived or unnatural; clicking away in moments where true feelings and emotions shine through, for that magical energy is the essence of portraiture. Hyatt Photography was founded on the belief that a portrait should, above all, capture the spirit, evoke emotion, and stir the heart. You will find yourself engaged in conversation, as I remain well-aware of your best expressions, capturing them as one would read a story.

My preference includes the use of mostly natural and available light, as I push the limits and break many standard rules. I shoot into the light. I am also eager to work on cloudy, overcast days, and have even worked in rainy conditions. I am not afraid of the dark, or of dingy conditions. I like a mixture of urban and classic, contemporary and simplistic, ethereal and rustic. I don’t necessarily seek out the ‘classic smile’, the ‘perfectly centered image’, the ‘perfect pose’.
