About Me

Figurative painter based in a studio in south London, fine art graduate focusing mainly on the figure and portrait in oil on canvas. I generally paint from life in natural light and have had the opportunity to work with some wonderful models in recent times from this site.
Recently I have been focusing on developing my drawing and have removed the work I previously had posted here as I feel it no longer represents me, through focusing on drawing I aim to resolve issues in my work and develop a basis in technique as a path to realising the work I aspire to create.
After years of formal study at art school I came to the conclusion that I had no real training,
due to the short comings of the British art school system and looking at the work of the great artists of the past I needed to hone my technique and have embarked on a course of study,
both self study and private instruction in the atelier drawing system, and will continue to
pursue this as I now realise that a foundation in technique is the key to achieving what I wish to realise in my work.
