About Me

Hey there! hope your feeling fantastic, a little about me...

my name is charmaine e orchard,

"knowledge is awesome, but creativity is unlimited."

my mission is to put the ART back into Make up ARTistry

I do make up/ special FX/ body painting n art/ hair

I love being creative and working as part of a creative team. Whats not to love? seeing your work on completion? the look of somebody who is seeing themselves differently for the first time? The aaaaah of a photographer, capturing a gorgeous
moment in time?

I have a vast and varied working background from Jillarooing on cattle stations, working in the Royal Australian Army and U.N. to owning and running a surf shop. I have always been the kind of person to have secondary art jobs and have always been very creative. Im also a diplomat and can interact with people from all walks of life, ensuring everybody is feeling fabulous.

I have been a make up artist for over 5 years now and I am very very passionate about it. I finally found my niche career that I will endeavor to keep improving, growing and experimenting with.
I beleive its advantagous to be skilled in all types of make up from glamour, air brushing, body painting to full on punk attitude horror gore, or anything else the mind can think up.

I believe when i have a model in front of me, its all about them.

I also do basic hair styling, All special FX, prosthetics, particularly wounds and gore, (fun fun fun) and wardrobe as well. I enjoy doing most styles of make up including all types of photo shoots from fashion, pin up, lingeree, goth, bands, family, pregnant expectations, wedding, artistic, glamour, lovers, hard core gore etc.

I have spent over 5 years being a makeup arist full time.
The only day jobs being working at Exclusive photography for 3 years, Inglot cosmetics for 2 and for the first 3 years working mainly in film. I have moved away from film at the moment because of the hours, I am now full time freelance. I have been really enjoying beauty, fashion, runway, photography, weddings, and Gala events, for the last 2 years with the occasional music vid and ctv, which i love.

I am living my life to the best of my ability and following the path less taken. I am passionate about what I do and I think that shows in my work and the people I have around me.

I have always been passionate about art and colour and this has extended into make up artistry.

I am a professional, who is reliable, creative, loyal, well presented, easy going, loves to laugh and enjoy my work.

Training: I completed a Diploma of Cinemagraphic Make up at the Frampton Institute where i was taught by Oscar winning Peter Frampton, that was a whole lot of fun! I also did a hair styling course throught the Frampton Institute. I worked part time at a local hairdressers for more training.
I have also completed a Wardrobe Assistant course with AAFTRS.

I am interested in any work that required a high level of creativity. The wilder n wackier and original the better.
particularly off beat/high end fashion/alternative etc.

I am interested in paid work, some submissions, I do love collaborating on fabulous projects.
I dont do a lot of tfp/tfcd unless I love you or the concept immensely. Or for a charity.

Please dont feel you can take advantage of my good nature. I have let myself be used before and have smartened up. ;)

I have joined today basically to network.. so would love to hear from you!

Cheers and stay beautiful.

Rebecca Cobbing Couture · Clothing Designer

Hello… I was hoping you could take a minute to vote for my Avant garde bridal dress in the QueensPlaza Avant Garde design competition. I would be even more stoked if you could share this with your friends, or on your facebook page. It takes about 2 minutes, and you have to sign up to become a vip member. Simply by voting you will instantly go into the draw to win a $1,000 QueensPlaza shopping spree. I also have flyers I can send you or an email to pass on to your mailing list. The major prize is an internship with Akira Isogawa valued at over $10,000. I can’t really put into words what this could do for my career, but I guess you can work out its kind of a big deal. Thanks soooo much in advance. Even one vote is a step in the right direction. Please let me know if there is any way I can repay the favour.
