About Me

There is in David Lynch’s “Lost Highway” a wonderful remark made by saxophone player Fred Madison (played by Bill Pullman) about memories. When asked by the police whether he owns a video camera he says he doesn’t, because - as his exact words are - ‘I like to remember things my own way’. “What do you mean by that?” - further asks the policeman; to which Fred replies: “How I remembered them. Not necessarily the way they happened.”

That is photography to me. A photograph is the ability to extract - out of an almost infinite number of possibilities - a certain person or object (and not others), and look at it in a certain angle (and not other), exposed under a certain, and unique, light. A photograph is our personal way to define a moment, to chose what we are going to remember of a particular point in time, and how. A photograph means to define the world not as it is - in all of its infinite circumstances - but as we elect to see it.

These are, thus, my points view. People, spaces, things, perhaps not as they were to others, but how they appeared to me, and the way I chose to remember them. Then, and forever.

If you care for such trivia, I live in New York and Miami, balancing an almost perfect mix of character, architecture, culture and climate.
