About Me

Hi. I'm Stephanie and I am a graduate of the fashion department of The School of The Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).

Manifesto:

Plastic surgery, body modification, piercings and tattoos can drastically alter a person’s image and make a bold statement. However, they are commonplace enough in todays society that you would be hard-pressed to find someone who does not brandish at least one of these body-alterations. Conceptual fashion and clothing, on the other hand, are very rarely seen outside of a runway or show. Certainly the majority of conceptual fashion is not so garish or obscene that it shouldn’t be able to be worn in public without drawing a crowd. Would it not be more interesting and worthwhile to see the public in interesting yet fashionable outfits that provoke thought? A line must exist where functional garments meet with the conceptual. What better place to start than with the human body itself?
