As an award-winning New York City based photographer, Phil specialized in shooting fashion and music, working with artists like Green Day, The White Stripes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ludacris, Jay-Z, The Roots, Trent Reznor, My Chemical Romance, Christina Aguilera, The Killers, and Fall Out Boy - to name just a few.

 In 2005, he shot his first short film, "The Listening Dead", which he wrote, directed, edited and financed himself. Premiering in 2006 at Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX, "The Listening Dead" won Best Short Film, and went on to win awards at film festivals all over the world. Named the "Best Horror Short of 2007" by Rue Morgue magazine, "The Listening Dead" has been translated into over a dozen languages, and continues to play festivals and special screenings to this day.

 Phil's second short film, "Far Out", had it's world premier at CFC's Worldwide Short Film Festival in Toronto in 2007, where it was immediately picked up by The Sundance Channel.

In 2008, Phil moved to Los Angeles to focus on directing. While developing feature projects, Phil continues to direct music videos, including Korn's "Oildale", and Opeth's "The Devil's Orchard", which was named one of the Best Music Videos of 2011 by Revolver Magazine, Guitar World Magazine, AOL's Noisecreep, and numerous online music blogs. In 2012, Revolver Magazine named Phil’s video for High on Fire’s “Fertile Green” the #1 Best Music Video of the Year, with his video for Pig Destroyer’s “The Diplomat” coming in at #5.

When he’s not writing or directing, Phil enjoys day drinking, not shaving, and speculating about the ultimate demise of human civilization.
