About Me

I've been dabbling on and off with photography for about 25 years or so.  It's only been within the last 5 years that I have taken in serious enough to start turning it to a business.  While my photography business is not my primary source of income, it is a passion of mine I've had for a long time.  I'm constantly reading or researching everything I can about it.  I like looking at others work and asking myself "How did they light that shot or why pose that way or what makes that shot an incredible shot?"  I think it's not only important to try and learn all I can to hopefully delivering shots my customers love, but I like to have them actively involved with the production of the shot.  I want the customer to leave with a sense of happiness knowing that they have some great shots coming to them but their opinions and inputs matters to me.  While I understand that sometimes you'll get that customer who says "I don't have a clue what I want to see."  It could be that with spending a little extra time working with them, they may actually have more to contribute than they originally thought.  It makes no sense for someone to have photos taken of themselves and not convey to the photographer their opinions, wants, desires, etc.  After all, in the end, the customer sometimes is your best selling point or advertisement, so why push them to the way side?  Sure you can take all the great photos you want, but when someone gets asked how you are to work with and they get negative reviews, what have you really accomplished?  Word of mouth is a powerful advertisement!  I want my photography to stay "more as a hobby versus work" because I know from experience that in some cases when something becomes "work," the fun and passion can easily go away.  I enjoy it too much and never want that to change!
