I'm currently enrolled in the Photography program at Langara College in Vancouver transitioning from an amateur to a pro.



In terms of style, it's still evolving. I've been called a "Lenny Kravitz" because there's no old school photographic riff I don't like. I confess I'm fond of the images of masters like Edward Steichen and Irving Penn but I like modern shooters too. They include Jill Greenberg, Michael Grecco, Mike Ruiz, Marion Ettlinger, Steven Meisel and Wayne Hoerschel. Some of the shooters on this site are up there too. The bar is truly high.



My format of choice is 35 mm digital but I also work in film including 4x5, 120 and 135 formats. My amateur emphasis has been landscapes and seascapes. Commercially I am shooting a lot of food, architecture and illustrative still life. My next challenge is to extend into potraiture.



My plan over the next year to two years is to build up a revenue producing stream of stock images. Producing them will mean I may call on other members of Model Mayhem including models, makeup artists and hairstylists. Hopefully this portfolio will pay for the conceptual fine art ideas I'd like to work out.
