My name is J.R. Lee and I am an independent filmmaker and CEO of Shipboard Filmworks Inc. Born in Detroit Mi, I joined the United States Navy in 1988 and still serving as an active Boatswain Mate Chief Petty Officer to date.

The "Never Too Late" premier was a complete success and the film is doing very well. The film is in works with a distribution deal with ITN distribution along with "Silver Nitrate".

Next on the platform is my 2nd feature film entitled "Get Some" a basketball story of the streetballers. The film will star the lovely "Simply Sonya" of model mayhem as Vanessa. Production will start in Sept of 06' and the film will hit the streets in Jan 07'.

Two commercials are on the air now in the Va area. One is "NYC Celebrites" hair salon and the other is "Davis Photography".

HOW TO APPLY
Submit your music/videos along with your Press Kit. Press kits will consist of: Bio, music and/or videos, Photo, valid email address, valid mailing address and valid phone number. Send a $30 money order per category to Shipboard Music Group for registration fee of ($15) and application fees of ($15).

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Shipboard Music Group is giving the independent artist, labels, producers and models a chance to showcase their talents and have an award show on the same level of the Grammy’s and the American Music Awards. SMG will spare no expense on how the night will go; there will be sky lights, Professional photographers, red carpet, limos everything you would expect that would happen at an award shows on the highest level.






THE EVENT
SMG is an independent company with big events for the independent realm. Virginia will be able to draw an audience of thousands with this type of event, that’s artist, producers and fans alike. With the special award presentations, and the reception at the after party, top music execs have no choice but realize the power and impact of the independent labels.




There will be four (4) nominees per category. All nominees in 2007 can look forward to rubbing elbows with artist from New York, Detroit, Chicago, Philly, the Dirty South, and all the way from the west coast like L.A., Inglewood, and Long Beach.

Also planned for the nominee’s is a special night prior to the Award show for the artist to mingle and trade contact info with one another at a disclosed location.
