About 6 weeks ago I made a snap decision to visit a friend in Minsk, Belarus. While planning the trip I knew there would be quite a few days when I would be alone as my friend works full-time. Not speaking any Belurusian or Russian I knew I needed to arrange something to occupy my time - so I decided to have a few photo sessions with local amateur models.
Well, the idea was good while planning from my flat in Warsaw, Poland. But, as time became shorter & shorter I realised that without any knowledge of the local language or Minsk I would have big problems - especially as I quickly had 16 photo sessions booked for the 6 days.
So . . . I googled "Minsk photographers" and, THANK GOD, found Andrei! He was incredibly helpful & generous in finding me an interesting location to shoot as well as supplying me with a Model Release Form in Russian. Unfortunately, I was not able to use his studio as there was simply not enough time. BUT, if his studio is 10% as good as his professional & friendly attitude then it would be a wonderful place to shoot.
In the end, my stay in Minsk was very enjoyable & the photo sessions a success. But, I could NOT have done the sessions without Andrei's help!
I heartily recommend Andrei as the only photography contact you will ever need in Minsk, Belarus.
