About Me

Having made a name for myself on the Kansas City band circuit over the past three years shooting some of the area's hottest bands, I've begun to branch off into model shooting. It's been a challenging transition, learning off-camera lighting techniques in addition to directing models on how to pose and getting the right look. Shooting live bands enables me to go with the flow and take what comes to me without having to worry about telling the subject what to do, which is NOT how it goes with posed shoots! Still, I manage to incorporate some candid, off-the-cuff moments by "shooting through" the official posed shot and capturing a "real" moment seconds later when the subject isn't expecting it. Candid, in-the-moment shots are my mainstay.

Right now I'm focusing on building my portfolio and improving my technique. I've been talking to several models about posing for me and it's high time to follow through...
