About Me

I have been a photographer pretty much all my life, my father pressing a camera into my hands as soon as I was old enough to 'point and shoot'.

It got serious in the late '70s and most of the '80s, including me renting permanent premises for a studio, darkroom etc., and doing a number of weddings, portraits, model portfolios etc and having some work published.

I got involved in other things during the '90s and photography took a back seat for some time, however with the advent of digital technology my interest was sparked again. Photography came back to the forefront in my interests a few years ago, now taking up a large proportion of my time.

Working with models is actually a smallish part of my photography as I shoot many subjects, with my main interest being animals and birds. I do plan on increasing the number of model shoots I fit in each year, however, due to the limited amount I do, I tend to be picky about who I work with and choose those models who best suit my ideas for the shots.

I prefer to work with experienced models, and am happy to pay for this privilege when a model can show the looks and ability level to justify this. However, I have limited funds for this (don't we all!). I am also happy to work TFCD with models who show potential and would like my work on their portfolio.

I prefer working on location (indoors or out) to in a studio, although I still do studio work at times. I don't have a specific style that I stick to, preferring to try different looks to suit my mood and the model I am working with.

Please feel free to get in touch if you are interested in working with me. I prefer to work with reasonably local models (within 50 miles, say) but have been known to travel long distances for the right model.
