Quiet, respectful and reserved by nature, I am a semi-professional taking further strides towards a more full-time career. I have undertaken several short courses over the years in order to build my skills and knowledge, including courses on Portraiture and Photo Editing.

My shooting and creative styles are muted, measured and deliberate, rather than funky and spontaneous. They are styles I am happy to call my own, and I have no inclination to follow the path of loud, big-budget, high-tech, high-end productions. I shoot almost exclusively by ambient light, even in a studio environment. Although I am more than handy with Adobe Photoshop, I always strive to get the image right at the time of shooting, in terms of composition, lighting and exposure.

In the end, my goal is to create portraits that are technically proficient, professionally executed, and that show the model as they really are: naturally beautiful, with minimal makeup, and without being photo processed to within an inch of their lives.

Professionalism and integrity extends beyond the actual shoot as well. I strive to maintain the highest levels at all stages, from initial contact, communication and planning, right through to post production and presentation of the images to the models. The model’s time is always highly valued, and they are always treated with the respect and basic decency that we all wish for ourselves.
