As a child, Walter Mendez always had a craving for the arts; he loved the idea of designing and seeing his innovations come to life. Walter’s fascination with colors, patterns, and shapes, stemmed not just from fashion, but also from interior design, culture, and history. Once Walter had a vision, magic was created. Many things have influenced Walter, but his passions for art and fashion have always been the driving force behind his designs. Growing up in Manhattan Beach, a small beach community nestled along the Pacific Coast, Walter was inspired by the beauty of the ocean. To Walter, the ocean was simple, yet elegant in movement, with its aquatic cerulean hue and the limitless texture of the sand which altogether provided a magnificent backdrop with which to create. Since discovering an admiration for art, Walter knew instinctively that his conviction for beauty and his yearn to make women feel elegant and chic would go hand-in-hand. Walter is a firm believer that there is no greater good than the feeling the perfect dress bestows on you. A feeling that you are powerful, sexy, and elegant; one fit for the runway.

In Fall 2009, Walter created the Walter Collection. The Walter Collection incorporates the principles of haute couture: fashion, quality and fit. Each season’s silhouettes are motivated by the latest European fabrics. Hand beaded tops sewn by artisans, hand worked jackets in the latest novelty fabrics, feminine, beautiful skirts and dresses, perfectly tailored pants and luxurious cashmere sweaters: all with embellishments finely crafted to compliment the fabrics and designs are always a part of the Walter Collection. The Walter Collection only employs and works with the best; from hand-beaded tops sewn by artisans to hand crafted jackets in the latest novelty fabrics, from stunning skirts and dresses exuding the essence of femininity to flawlessly tailored pants and luxurious cashmere sweaters. A natural trait of the Walter Collection is to instill in their garments finely crafted embellishments to compliment the fabrics and designs. Various one-of-a-kind pieces of the Walter Collection go into limited productions, mostly to exclusive clients.
