My inspiration for designing this line was an epiphany I had at a train station in Paris. I realized that denim had taken over the world as a staple item. The train station was a sea of blue denim shades. It seems everyone and every age literally wears denim, all in different styles and accessorizing them accordingly, but it is everywhere. I realized then that denim is here to stay and will continue to encroach and occupy a large portion of our closets. We have jeans for work, we have jeans for travel, we have jeans for clubs, gardening, and running around. And then over the coming year, my observations were from Tokyo to Paris, London, Rome, Hong Kong, 60% of the people are in casual clothes and guess what -mostly denim.

I loved to design, have been since I was 14. As an introvert, I loved watching people and how they dress. Now as a semi extrovert, I am still watching people and their bodies. And my inspiration comes from wanting people to look good without being obvious. Good style comes from a certain elan and strong lines in a garment. Any skinny hanger can look good, but we are real people and we dress for real everyday lives!

I want to create smart casual clothing with Dirty Dog that fit my perception and the lifestyle. I am designing for the men and women who are sexy, fun, and curious, and well meaning. They live and do things.....work, play and are multi dimensional. So my clothes should have style, a great fit and look smart on my customer! It should be able to take my client almost anywhere anytime!

The most special and unique concept with Dirty Dog jeans is the design of the fit and the quality of the denim. It is heavy 100% cotton denim that is treated and washed and has the soft fresh laundered feel as soon as you buy it, but it is not paper thin and will wear well for a few good years. It is designed and made in America. And lastly all garments have a soft feel and drape and silhouette the male and female form and that adds to sex appeal of the person without being obvious. I want to focus on building a collection that is trendy without being overtly and momentarily trendy with extreme details. The line and future collections will incorporate interesting blends of fabrics for the tees and shirt and blouses. We want to work more with recycled knits and creating fun accessories for our clients. Want to be known for attention to styling, tailoring, and fabrics. From high-end denim jeans, soft cottons, silky vintage blends, and recycled knits. The lines will include a myriad of jeans, shirts, t-shirts, caps, gloves, and scarves for men.

The term dirty dog is used usually good humouredly between friends when someone has done something not polite and or a little cheeky. And I expect guys who wear dirty dog to be a little bold, a little more edgy and experimental with their clothing style. They are not necessarily the boring conservative guys; they will take time to dress up, and care about their appearance. They are the guys that will lead others, not followers! Technically – I call them good bad boys, meaning they will play jokes on people and yet they will also be someone who will help others, someone a friend can count on. Men and women with attitude and a conscience.

I am working on a new collection for partial release in the UK, Australia and some cities in Asia. Due to styling and details, it will be named after a small town in US and a big city in France. The serendipity of the AmEuro blend will once lend itself to the collection and the t-shirts theme will be dedicated to the damn DOGS once again. Stay tuned.
