Trained in photojournalism and fine art, I enjoy capturing moments that reveal something about the person, often within an environment, but not necessarily; a studio isolates the person and the focus is that much more intense. I enjoy classic, elegant lines and compositions. Black and white probably, more than color. I've made many photographs of events for publication but would like to focus more on portraiture and fine art. Oh, and I studied fine art, art history, and Scandinavian studies at the University of Michigan before recently finding a gallery and studio space in Grosse Pointe Park, MI, www.paulengstromfineart.com. I plan on using the gallery space to show contemporary works of all media while supporting the exhibits with my freelance photography. I welcome correspondence from models and other photographers as well.
