About Me

I'm not a professional photographer, I'm an artistic photographer. Generally speaking, people come to me because they like my style, or I shoot with people on a hobby level to see what they're like and to see how my style fits with them.
I generally shoot either extreme wide angle, 18mm, or I'll shoot intimately with my 50mm f1.8 lens, but the lens I primarily shoot with, and the one I've built a reputation for is my lensbaby. The subtle, to extreme blurs it gives some of my photos gives it that edge which I hope stands me out from the crowd.

I don't use professional flashes or lighting, generally I'll use whatever light is available, maybe a flash for some lighting help or a trusty $5 work lamp. Sometimes I'll use a desk lamp, flash lights, candles, led lights, phone screens, whatever gives a nice visual effect.
I'm not a hugely technical person and I don't really worry about correct exposure. I prefer artistic experimentation with lighting, deep contrasts, hints of light etc. I'm still learning about many aspects of photography, but I like to think I've developed enough to work with upcoming models and potential clients who might like my style.

I've worked with various people now. I've shot for upcoming models looking for folio work, designers who want to represent their creations, catwalks, events, bands, live gigs, family portraits and just fun social photo gatherings.

I am open to pretty much anything. At the end of the day, if I don't approach you, feel free to approach me with your ideas. I'm always excited to work with new people.

I do do a fair bit of post processing work. I like to experiment with colours, styles, textural effects, basically anything that can add to a photo's aesthetic appeal. I'm an artist at heart rather than a photographer so I try to create a photo like I would any other artwork, with composition, framing, lighting, colour etc, and then further developing the artistic process with whatever post productive aspects that really make the artwork shine.

People have responded favourably to my end results which has caused me to consider starting one of these profiles. I love working with new people, it's a great way to create great new images while starting great new friendships :)
