"Make-up is a new craft for me, but to me, dedication to anything can lead to perfection."

Raised in Evanston, IL a suburb outside of Chicago, Toni Giselle has been in the business of beauty and fashion since friends would sit in her chair and get their hair braided back in the seventh grade.

Perfecting her skills through dorm room sessions at the University of Wisconsin, a wise friend told her, "doing hair will take you places, you are meant to do hair."

Not following the advice right away, Toni took her design and drawing skills instead, picked up her bags and moved to New York City, to pursue a career in fashion design. After working at several fashion houses, Toni opened a clothing store, Fitted by the Best, in the heart of Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Becoming bored with not using her creative abilities fully, Toni finally attended Empire/Learning Institute for Beauty Sciences to gain a license in cosmetology.

"She can look at reference pictures and follow direction, on top of that her creative mind is even more amazing," praised one of her peers.

After competing in several competitions, working in the salon for a couple months, the opportunity to work as an assistant with celebrity hairstylist, Ursula Stephen was presented and she jumped at the chance.

Currently, Toni is assisting, testing and recently sold the clothing store to complete her degree in journalism. She is currently in contracts with an agency and in the future, she would like to serve as a fashion and beauty editor for a major publication before owning her own.
