Andrew S. Conklin is a figurative painter. He holds an MFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and has studied at New York's National Academy of Design School and the Art Students League.

The artist sees his work as a collaboration between himself and his models, and relies on this interaction, its spontaneity, inspiration and process of discovery, to inform and enrich the form and content of his work.

Conklin's figurative paintings have been exhibited throughout the USA and have won him a number of major awards. The artist's work has been published in New American Paintings, No. 29 and 83, from Open Studios Press, and Art Scene Chicago 2000, by Ivy Sundell.
