Targeting the Junior and Young Adult Casual and Contemporary Markets

Older, semi retired... Used to shoot a lot of high fashion/runway (don't anymore).
Now working on various personal projects, adding images to my Creative Imaging Archives stock photo library and handling occasional commercial assignments for select specialty and boutique fashion brands.

MODELS

I've been fortunate to have worked with very bright, very talented, very beautiful models over the years. And, while I've cut way back on the number of assignments that I'm handling, I'm still interested in shooting with both emerging and established talent.

For fashion, i primarily work with female models in the age ranges from tweens/early teens to mid to late 20's, depending on the project involved, the stock needs and client requirements. (For models under the age of 18, all communication is handled through parents.)

At this point, going more for a California Casual look than a high fashion-glamour look. Ethnicity and height aren't all that important, but models should have a certain runway/commercial look and be on the slender side with weight proportional to height (ex: 5'2" +/- 103#, or 5'8" +/- 119#, primarily sizes 0,1,2 or 3).

Dedication, dependability and a desire to succeed are more important than experience. I've taught both photography and modeling so I'm pretty effective at coming up with the looks I'm going for.

I'm generally pretty good at coming up with models/subjects that I need on a trade basis, but I do do paid shoots, particularly with models that have interesting locations available,

I'm particularly looking for models with access to:

* Heated Private Swimming Pools for Underwater shoots,
* Lofts or Rooftops with dramatic urban views,
* Grand Spaces, Rehearsal Halls and Workout Facilities,
* Industrial Buildings and Heavy Equipment.

I'm also looking to work with MUA, fashion designers and stylists who are targeting the same market segment.

ACTIVITY SHOOTS

Looking for talented tween/teen/young adult subjects (male or female) for recreational activity shoots, ranging from roller blading, skate boarding and biking to things like surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding, to motocross and BMX to ballet, hip hop and modern dance. Always open to suggestions for other types of activity shoots.

For competitive events and team sports, I'm more interested in shooting the practices, rehearsals, work outs and warm ups than the actual competition itself,. I want to be able to set up the shots to come up with that I need. I've done a lot of sports coverage of high school, collegiate and pro games for daily newspapers, and I like shooting competitive sports, but for this series, I'm more interested in the competitors.

IF WE'RE GOING TO WORK TOGETHER

I try to make my shoots easy going and fun. I usually have a meeting with a model/subject either at the location where the shoot is going to be held, (if it's a specialized facility such a heated pool or dance studio), or at a local Starbucks before a shoot to make sure we're on the same page and that everything is going to go well.

BACKGROUND:

Strong Editorial background before semi-retiring, contributing to national and international consumer magazines, trade publications and daily newspapers, writing various books on photograph and developing corporate publications, both on a staff and stringer basis. Did a lot of work for inflight magazines, so, could frequently fly free. Traveled extensively to almost every state in the U.S. and over 40 countries.
