My portrait work is at the advanced amateur level at this point.

My interest in portraiture is inspired by Hollywood photography of the 20s to the 50s. I am also a long-time film noir fan, and plan to be more involved in that style. I use vintage cameras and lenses, and continuous lighting, in spite of the conventional wisdom.

I've noticed that a number of people emphasize in their profiles that they're not here to collect friends, and I'm with them. I'm happy to friend someone I've worked or corresponded with and hope to build a network that way. Point being, if you've caught my attention and I don't friend you right away, it's nothing at all personal. You are a fine human being and the universe loves you.

I am still building a body of work, but feel confident in my vision. The work I see here on MM is both humbling and inspiring.
