My name is Jay Cheung and im a freelance Photographer and Graphic Designer based in London.

How I got into photography is a very long story. How can I start this, well from a very young age, back to when I was 15 or so, it was a my GCSEs I picked graphic design and art, I just loved drawing and creating images with my own hand, using colours to express different feeling and expressions. With the graphics we learnt a lot about product design, how to get from just sketching to having a end product where you can feel and touch it.
With the skill of art and design behind me I went in to multimedia and graphic design, there is where I got in to more computer based work and design, and there is where I got introduced into photography.
During the college years I learnt a lot of new ways to design and create fantastic looking images. From using programs likes Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, after effect etc a lot of adobe design suite programs, I was very lucky in terms of finding this course and learning all these different softwares.
As my design skill improved and my Photography side grow stronger, I used Photoshop a lot more, more than then other Adobe design programs; I got to a stage where I pretty much use Photoshop for all my designs and editing photos.
Staying on the track I set I goal for me for the future, my target was to get into fashion advertising industry, with that in mind I went into university studying Photography and Graphic design. I went to UEL (university of East London) and got a 2:1, during my time at university I learnt a lot more about photography, from the equipment used to working as a photographer. From day one is where I got my first Digital SLR camera, which was a Canon 30D.
With the camera I just started to shoot anything and everything, upgrading my technical skill to a point where I was really comfortable with everything from my camera to lighting to retouching.
My aim now is to try and get more work publish and do more paid freelance work.
I and still building my portfolio up as you can see, so if theres any Models, Cloth designers, Set Designer, stylists, wardrobe stylist, Make-up artist, Hair Dresses or Photographer that wants to collaborate with me either for paid work or just testing contact me, I am up for TFP or TFT work to.
