NOTE:

I have been on a photographic hiatus for several years now. As we get older, sometimes life hands us a few sour grapes and I am no exception. Due to health circumstances, I have not been shooting for some time but have won a few of those battles and am getting the itch again. I am also in the mood to go a different direction.

Because of the fact that I didn't think I was ever going to be able to shoot again, I sold all of my gear. Cameras, lenses, studio lights - all of it is gone. Now its time to pick up some gear a bit at a time. I don't think I will buying many thousands of dollars worth of it as I did before because a retired guy's budget just does't cover that! What I will do, however, is to buy some quality gear that will do the job. After all, photographers have managed to shoot and publish amazing photographs for a very long time before "zillion megapixel" cameras hit the scene.

If you are a model that likes to walk her own path and not get caught up in conventional thinking, I just might be for you. Together, we can discover what quality film cameras and excellent quality but not "top of the line" digital cameras can do. I'm betting that we will get some shots that many will never know did not come from an super expensive DSLR. Who knows, we might just embarrass some of the folks who think absence of a stupidly expensive camera makes someone a "GWC."

Come have some fun with me! Lets see if we can make some "old skool magic" with an old skool camera!

PS: Many of the photos in my current portfolio were shot with a Nikon D70, which was a "first generation" DSLR. The kit (body and lens) was a little under $1,000 when I bought it but would now sell used for much, much less. Cameras like this can still be purchased in good shape and are of the sort that I have in mind.
