’Memento Mori’ is a latin phrase that means ’Remember that you are mortal’.
I read this in my random studying of random things (lol), and it really hit me. We are only human. Do you know what that means??
We bleed when we get cut. We get ours hearts broken. When we are sad, we cry. When we’re full of joy, we laugh. We have fears we can’t explain. We’re tied down by the laws of gravity. We always will compete with each other. We love intensely. We have our own identities, each as unique as our fingerprints. We will all die eventually. Some sooner than others.
We aren’t immortal.
But does that mean we should hide in our own little shells, afraid of living our lives because there are risks involved?
No.
That’s where another one of my favorite latin phrases comes in-- Carpe Diem. ’Seize the day.’
That's exactly what I'm doing now. Seizing the day.
