*****EDIT 11-28-09: Been super busy buying my first property for the past several months, a process that has pretty much swallowed whatever time my job does not. Hopefully I'll be getting back into the swing of things soon and getting some shoots underway. I sincerely apologize if there's been a delay in getting back to anyone.*****
I have been taking photographs for as long as I can remember. The son of an antiques dealer, I grew up surrounded by old things and have been collecting antique photographs since I was little. I studied photography intensively at Miami University (2001-2005) under Jon Yamashiro, and am proficient in 35mm, medium format, darkroom, and digital photography techniques and manipulation. After several years working as a graphic designer, I am looking to rebuild my portfolio and continue pursuing photography in a more serious way. I am generally disinterested in "pretty" pictures or anything that resembles stock photography. I am especially interested in the candid, edgy, quirky, unflattering, detailed, intense, odd, honest, and unsettling. My favorite photographers include Nicholas Nixon, Robert & Shana Parkeharrison, Richard Avedon, Dorthea Lange, and Man Ray. My photographs have been exhibited in shows and galleries, including the Cincinnati Art Museum. I am looking to work with talented models on a wide variety of projects, including fashion, glamour, candid and artistic portraits, and commercial projects. I usually work for trade and am always willing to make more traditional photographs outside the project-at-hand to help the model with their own portfolio. Am willing to travel for fun/worthwhile projects. Compensation is possible for commercial projects. Please feel free to contact me with any potential projects or offers.
