I began my sewing career in Cleveland, OH at the age of fourteen when my grandmother taught me to sew patchwork handbags from vintage placemats.  By the time I graduated from high school, I was sewing my own skirts and prom dresses.

In 2001 I moved to Chicago and studied fashion design at Columbia College Chicago while working at Chicago’s custom handbag company, 1154 Lill Studio.  Focusing on fit and timeless silhouettes, I launched AUDEY, my own design studio that is committed to the classic tradition of cocktail dresses with an innovative touch.  Heavily influenced by my experience with tactile upholstery fabrics and custom orders, the line strives to combine the perfect fabric and design for each garment.  The result is AUDEY; dresses that are at once whimsical and romantic while maintaining the highest level of quality.

Recently, Chicago Fashion Incubator, a year long program that assists emerging designers to launch their own fashion business, selected me as one of their six designers in residence.  There I will continue to promote my brand and branch into new markets.

AUDEY is also proud to give back to the community by donating a portion of each sale to an international women’s charity called Equality Now.  Equality Now fights gender discrimination across the globe.  http://equalitynow.org/

My goals for Model Mayhem is to meet and connect with emerging industry professionals such as photographers, models and stylists.
