I’ve always love photos. I can remember back to middle school and high school, my friends and I jumping at any chance we had to take pictures! Of course, back then, we were in front of the camera most of the time, posing for pictures at school dances or at friends’ parties. When cell phones began offering a camera feature, I was ecstatic! I started snapping shots of friends, food, nature – whatever caught my eye.

I dabbled in modeling and began to learn more and more about photos and posing. Through modeling and conversations with other models I’d meet, I realized that there were photographers out there taking advantage of young models. I knew that the industry could be shady, and felt terrible hearing stories of these young girls, just starting out, who would pay ridiculous fees for photos that turned out to be quite amateur. I figured I could give professional photography a try, at the very least so I could help some of these new-found model friends with high quality photos for their portfolios.

That’s how my photography hobby was born! I started out with nothing more than a Sony pocket camera and some super-bright construction site lights, so I was surprised (and excited!) when I received praise from an established photographer, Greg Hadel. I’d worked with Greg on previous shoots, and he was happy to help when I had questions about being behind the camera. With Greg’s help, my hobby began to feel more serious and much more “professional”. I wanted to make photography my true career, but found that oftentimes the strict direction I would receive from paying clients would stifle my own creativity.
For me, photography is a way to shape images my own way and share them, as art, with others. I have a deep passion for photography, and couldn’t imagine my life without a camera in it, without photography in it. So, I continue to work on personal projects as they peak my interest.


ABSOLUTELY NO RESCHEDULING!!!!

It's unfortunate I have to have this rule in place but I have wasted too much time in 2011 with flakes. If we schedule a shoot, please make sure you show up. It's a fair expectation?
